El Mágico Circo de Espuma is the latest work by author and director Alexandre Pring who, since 1989, has been enchanting audiences with his imaginative puppetes, objects and staging. Among other production, Pring has staged “Floresta de Duendes”, “Estação Terra”, and the same “El Mágico Circo de Espuma”. Nominated for the Coca-Cola Project for Children’s Theatre Award for Best Staging, the El Mágico Circo de Espuma has had great success with audiences and critics alike due in part to the sophisticated special effects and staging of its tirts production under a 15m x 20m circus tent erected in the gardens of the Museu da República (Rio de Janeiro / Brasil – 1996).

Today, the show continues to mix different styles and techniques of theatre, circus, visual arts and marionettes in a version adapted for the theatre and alternative space. This smaller version continue express the thrill of the circus but avoids the logistical difficulties of the original production, which used staging weighing nearly four tons. In this smaller version the El Mágico Circo de Espuma leaves the big top behind for the convenience of the theatre and alternative spaces adding new scenes and characters expressed through the art of clown and through exploiting the relationship between the actor and the marionette to culminate in a hilarious and witty show filled with surprises for all.

At the beginning, actors and spectators circulate for a gallery of three-dimensional pictures (previous of the personages and attractions of the spectacle, and a little of the history of the circus), in the way of jugglings, magic, and fire numbers, finishing the passage front to small ring. The exposition of three-dimensional figures complements the aesthetic of the spectacle, that portraies with its coloring the true world of the circus. Inks acrylic and plastic, polyurethane foam, and scrap portions, compose the creative panels, also signed for Alexandre Pring.
